This morning we went over to the nursery, our third visit.  There were Bella and Poppy the twins, Jolly with a snotty nose and Jemima all doing Christmas pictures with glitter and glue.  I had a go with a big apron on. I wasn’t allowed to eat much of the glitter but I did have a good scrunch around in the glue with my hands.  My picture is in the kitchen now.

After that I watched Jemima do a puzzle and then she let me have a go and showed me where all the bits went which was interesting but all I really wanted to do was suck the pieces which she didn’t like.

Teething!

I woke up at 4.45 am today and wouldn’t go back to sleep until mum fed me.  At Lisa’s mum felt my gums and so did Celine and they discovered I had teeth coming on the bottom.  They are sore!  Mum has been giving me powder on my tongue which makes me feel better.  I sat in Anna’s high chair and ate soup, nice bread and yoghurt.  Anna won’t eat so she wheeled around in her walker and Louis slept upstairs.  Dad looked after me again this evening when mum went running.

Playing with my loud music thing

I woke up at 5 am this morning and then mum made me go back to sleep and we all slept til quite late.  After brekky I head a massive sleep, until 4pm!  Then I messed about with my lunch so mum got me out of my high chair and then I cried because I was hungry so I went back in my high chair and ate quite a lot.  I had another go at walking in the living room and then I stood up holding on to the foot stool with one hand while I poked the music thing and made lights flash and a woman sing, great!

A few steps!

At Baby Sensory it was the beach party theme with shiny fish on a mobile that the bloke walked around with dangling over us.  I had my own basket with bran and shells and things in, beech combing he called it.  Bran tasted quite nice.  The most exciting thing was when mum held my hands and instead of bending my knees a few times like I usually do, I took 2 steps!  Seen lots of other people doing it so I thought I would try it.  Mum got excited and told dad all about it when we got home.  After Baby we had a cup of tea with Tash and Rosie.  Rosie and me got a teaspoon each to play with in our high chairs which was OK but it was better when I took Rosie’s off her and then I had 2.

On Tuesday Granny Liz came for lunch and then she came to Water Babies with us.  I clung on to mum a lot in the pool but all the underwater stuff was fine, we are doing new things each week now and mum wears goggles when she goes under the water, very silly.   After swimming mum and Granny had a coffee and I played on the carpet a bit and then I had a sleep.

Great auntie Pam’s 80th

Yesterday mum and me went to Tetbury to the Priory Inn Hotel where we met up with great auntie Pam, grandad and auntie Rache.  They all watched me a lot and auntie Pam got toys out of the toy chest that was there for me to play with which I liked.  I got a lot of attention which was nice and I enjoyed my lunch a lot.  The high chair was a bit big as usual so auntie Rache put her handbag in the back for me to lean on and I sat on a book.  I sat between mum and great auntie Pam who gave me some carrot and grandad gave me some of his nice bread.  The fish and mash were good and I had my first clam.  I had a nap on mum after lunch and then we had a walk into Tetbury, auntie Rache carried me.  We stopped in a caf and I drank milk out of the milk jug and had my first taste of hot cross bun with butter on which was lovely.  After a play on the bed in auntie Rache’s room, we drove home.  I woke up in the traffic in Bristol and cried because I was bored in the dark.  It was nice to get home and have my tea and then a lovely play in the bath.  I caught the wind up yellow angel fish a few times and gave it a good chew.

I went to visit the nursery for an hour this morning.  We were outside most of the time with the other children: Josh with the dodgey haircut who is a bit boisterous, twin girls Poppy and Bella and Jolly (Jolian) who cried a bit because he’s new.  They are all 2 apart from Jolly who is 14 months but tall.  On a Thursday when I am there there will be 6 of us, Jemima who is also 2 was away today.  I saw Jack the guinea pig who lives in the garden and goes into his hutch on his own when he wants to and the 2 other guinea pigs who live in hutches and come out to be stroked.  There is a sand pit, a little tramoline and some climbing blocks which looked fun.  I watched everyone but seeing Jack was the most interesting bit.  We stayed and watched the children having their snack around the little table, they have little chairs then we came home and I had a nap.

Bath toys

Mum and dad got me some toys to play with in the bath.  I think the best ones are foam fish I can chew and my favourite is the yellow one.  Dad likes the submarine that winds up and mum likes the whistling dolphins.  Last night my bath was so full that there was hardly any room for me.  I sit up now to play with them and only fall over sometimes. I have started saying “blah blah blah” like mum and dad and am getting quite good at getting around on my tummy but can’t crawl yet.  I can also stay standing up if I hang on to things.

Waterbabies and my name isn’t Melon!

I am now an intermediate waterbaby.  I started the second course today.  I am the only girl in our small class, with Sid the chunky and Jamie with ginger hair.  We all had a good time and did some new things.  Mum looked funny in goggles (I had to have a good look to check it was her), I swam to her underwater which she was very happy about.  We did a lot of splashing, what we do when we drop in off the side and then turning round and holding on.  It was the first time I’d done it without my wetsuit.  Wetsuits are for little babies!
After swimming we went to see Katrina, Isla and baby Morgana.  Isla thinks I’m called Melon and she calls Morgana More Nanas.  I was trying to have a sleep because I was worn out after swimming but Isla wanted to play with me so I slept on the way home instead.  Isla is 2 and a half and moves around a lot.  I like watching her.

We haven’t got many of these left til mum goes back to work so I am trying to stay awake; not easy as it’s during my nap-time which is silly.  Today was rock and roll week and we did some frigging about.  I chewed on a stick with ribbons attached and sat on a bouncy ball while mum bounced me.  I sat in the ball pit with Lexi for a bit and then we did the good-bye song and I sucked my thumb.  I had my 2nd nap when we got home, had a go in my bouncer and then sat on the sofa and chewed my masher and pastry brush.  Today I am wearing a nice flowery top over  my jeans that Sarah gave me.
