This morning we went to a new group in Wells Town Hall. It was a rush to get there and mum put me in my pink and green suit which was snug so I fell asleep in the car and woke up when she was trying to get me into the front carrier. I had a really good time crawling around at the beginning looking at all the pushchair’s wheels and I nearly managed to get out of the door but mum caught up with me. Everyone sung “Happy Birthday” to me while I sat on Sue’s lap (the lady running it) and she gave me a card which was nice then we all sang to Henry whose birthday was yesterday. We sang 5 or 6 songs with actions and we could go into the middle and choose our own rattle. I wanted someone else’s but couldn’t have it. I ended up with the loudest one which was good.
After the music thing we went to Tesco’s and I sat in a trolley and sucked the metal bar. This afternoon mum and me both had a long sleep and dad gave me my tea and bath while mum went running in the rain with Sarah. I had a late bed-time because I wasn’t really tired.
Mum doesn’t b.feed me much now, I have a bottle of cow’s milk at night and she feeds me sometimes in the morning. I’m not a baby anymore!

Last week was half term so I did a lot of lounging about in my pjs and eating late breakfasts. Today I thought we would all have an early start so I woke mum and dad up at 5am. I had a good time at nursery but wasn’t very hungry at lunch-time. At home-time I was very happy to see my daddy as always. When mum got home I crawled as fast as I could over to her and made my squealing noises which mum liked.
Today I had a really nice time. Rache and Kev came this morning and gave me a funny ladybird with plungers on her feet and the whole set of Beatrix Potter books (which mum was very happy about). They played with me and I showed them how good I am at standing up and crawling. Later Omi and Roy came and everyone had a big chat while I sat on Omi’s lap and laughed when Rache played with the ladybird. I had lots of lovely cards and presents to open, playing with the paper was good fun! After lunch I had my second nap because I was worn out and when I woke up Granny and Colin were here and the others had left. I had a birthday cake with a candle which I liked although I liked the cake more and ate lots of it- I could get used to this!
I ate 2 pears for dinner and then had a nice play in the bath and went to bed. The end of my 1st birthday!
The day before my birthday I had a party at Tinytearawayz in Knowle. It was brilliant! It was a joint birthday with Alfie. These are the people who came: Laura & Meg & Harvey, Sally & Freya, Nicky & George, Sarah & Calib, Hannah & Jack, Paula & Evie, Tasha & Rosie, Helen & Lois, Victoria & Eddie. I went with my mum and Omi (OB1) and had a lovely time playing at crawling over all the big cushion things, playing with the air blower, going up the slide and down the slide, in the ball pit and climbing out over the side. I really loved being able to get everywhere, not like at home where I’m not allowed to go to some places. Later we all had chocolate cake, it was the first time I’d had cake so I made the most of it! It was yummy and squidgey. I got some lovely presents and cards: clothes from Next that everyone had clubbed together to get as well as a bubble machine from Freya which is brill and a pretty raincoat from Sarah & Calib. Such a lovely afternoon!
Today is Fri Jan 29, ages since mum or dad wrote anything on my blog. I have been going to nursery for 4 weeks now and I like it. I go all day Mon and Thurs and until lunch-time on Fridays. Me and dad spend Friday afternoons together.
I am a good crawler now, not just commando style but proper crawling on all fours and standing up is my favourite thing. I hold onto people’s hands and walk or pull myself up onto my feet by holding on to the sofa or my toy box. As well as my two bottom teeth (which I cleaned for the first time in the bath tonight with my new toothbrush), my top ones might be on their way.
I can say “da da” but I say that to everything really as well as “blah! blah!”. I have got a bit more picky with food, can’t really be very bothered with food you have to chew and I only eat greens now if they are hidden under other things. I have had a few colds so far this Winter and had S & D last week so I suppose I have been a bit off my food. I had to have Thurs and Fri off nursery last week and stayed at home with dad because he was ill too. Me and mum have missed 2 Waterbabies sessions and next week is the last one we are going to go to so I hope I am well enough.
I still like sleeping but dad caught me trying to stand up and lean over the edge of my cot last weekend so he lowered the bottom bit so now I can’t. A good thing is though that I can look through the sides now that are made of netting and see if anyone is coming. I think mum and dad are a bit tired at the moment, I like to see them nice and early, some time between 3am and 6′ish .
Mum went out this afternoon to have a massage on her shoulder I made sore when I fell asleep on it the other day. Me and dad had a good time when I was feeling ok but I had to have 3 naps today because I still feel rough.
I had 2 goes at my tea and still only ate yogurt. My musical leapfrog toy is quite good now but I think I still prefer my wooden spatula or maybe the bells.
Dad has given me his cold for Christmas. I am very wheezy and a bit grumpy but mum & dad have discovered that I am getting my 2nd tooth at the bottom (next to my nice sharp other one) so they are being nice. I can’t be bothered to eat as much as normal but I have learnt how to wave good-bye and have been doing that when I have my nappy changed and other things so that I can get better at it.
Auntie Rache arrived on Christmas Eve and she slept on the sofa bed so she could try and catch a glimpse of Santa as he came down the chimney.
On Christmas Day I wore my Christmas pudding babygro (again!) and had a good mess about with the wrapping paper. The shiny stuff and the bits of ribbon were the most interesting. The black sheet of crinkly paper from mum’s box of chocolates was nice.
Auntie Rache fed me my porridge and then I had a nap and only ate a bit of Christmas dinner because I was still full. I had more to eat later when I’d practised my crawling and rolling around on the rug with my toys and some boxes. I had a nice day, it was fun having 3 people to play with as well as Zak who is still my favourite.
On Monday dad looked after me because mum went to school. I sneezed a lot and had a runny nose so I went back into my cot for lots of naps. I’ve got half a bottom front tooth now which I like to practise biting with but not food, I am not hungry. Today mum took me to see Nicky the homeopath. She held me while mum wrote a cheque and I tried to get away and play with the car keys. I wore my pyjamas because I’m ill and my new red coat but it is very big and my hands don’t stick out.
On Friday last week we went to Soft Play in Knowle in Bristol for Jodie’s 1st birthday party. Jack, George (from B Sutton) and Isabel were there too with their mums. I had a nice time rolling around on the soft cushions and standing up holding on to the side. Me and mum went down the slide and we watched the floating balls which was magic!
All the babies sat in high chairs while the mums sang to Jodie and then ate her cake.
